Is one face enough? The Fantasy Art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Hi Everyone!



As you know, my website Fantasy Art and Portraits presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.







Today, I'd like to introduce the art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith. A selection from her Miscellaneous Art Prints Gallery is shown below. You don't need a full-size picture to note that in addition to the variety of genres, there is a sameness in the subject's face. (Which, "incidentally" looks rather like the artist herself).



It's been said that people who follow a character across many novels or television series (say, Sherlock Holmes) are looking for the character to do the same thing over and over again, just in a different setting. With Holmes, for example, we are thrilled and enlightened over and over in each episode by his fabulous deduction. The essential action of deduction is repeated in every book, so on one level, it's the same thing over and over.



Or take Cosmo Kramer of Friends. Every episode, we see his trademark hairstyle and twitchy personality, and we perhaps even look forward to seeing him exactly he same way every time.
